InstaTIP: 3 minutes on possible symptoms of vitamin B deficiency

1. If you don't eat animal foods, you probably know the importance of vitamin B12. Its role is important for production of sufficient amount of energy and for hematopoiesis. That is why more serious deficiency of vitamin B12 can cause anemia. Among its symptoms or indications belongs strong fatigue, paleness, irritability to depression, shortness of breath and dizziness.

2. Also vitamin B2, i.e. riboflavin is drawn mainly from animal ingredients, such as milk, dairy products, eggs, meat and fish. If you don't consume enough of these foods, you can be troubled by difficulties like inflammation of tongue, cracked corners of mouth, sensitivity to light, rashes etc.

3. Skin problems can be a symptom of deficiency of various B vitamins. Acne tends to be caused for example also by having little pantothenic acid, i.e. vitamin B5. This suspicion is only strengthened if with rashes you perceive also fatigue, reduced endurance, worsened immunity or migraines.

4. Deficiency of vitamin B6 can appear when taking oral contraceptives, some antibiotics and medicines for cardiovascular diseases. Symptoms are visible on skin, mainly in face area, but can manifest also as cracked corners of mouth, in some cases as lowered immunity, anemia and in worse cases also as seizures, vomiting and diarrhea.

5. Vitamin B7 is biotin, and its deficiency is not so common. However, it can appear with very one-sided or insufficient diet and with digestive tract problems. Among symptoms belong weak nails and hair, sometimes also mood swings.
