1. The answer to why spring fatigue arises can be found (also) in hormones, specifically in the secretion of melatonin and serotonin.

During winter, melatonin production increases due to darkness. With the arrival of spring, this process reverses, which can result in a minor (or major) chaos in the sleep regime. Conversely, there is less serotonin in darker days, but its production accelerates only slowly and gradually with the arrival of longer days. A lack of this hormone causes despondency, lack of joy, motivation and energy.

2. Spring fatigue is also related to diet. It is completely natural that in colder months we crave rather fattier foods with higher caloric value. As well as the fact that fruits and vegetables are nowhere near as popular as in summer. All this can lead to a lack of some minerals and vitamins, which can manifest as excessive exhaustion.

3. For many, movement is only a summer affair. Sport increases energy levels, it is therefore quite logical that after a lazy winter its lack is already quite palpable.
