1. Regularity is really important, but the 28-day cycle rule belongs among myths about menstruation. In adults it is completely fine if it ranges between 21-35 days, while in puberty this time interval can extend to 21-45 days.
2. "When I menstruate, I can't get pregnant." Well, the previous sentence is indeed a mistake. Although it is unlikely, it is not excluded at all, so you can get pregnant as a result of unprotected sex while you are menstruating.
3. Although menstruation represents the hardest part of the month for many women, contrary to myths it is not due to blood loss. The amount of that dose which leaves the organism in these days is approximately 2-3 tablespoons. Of course, for some women it is actually more, but that already requires medical check-up.
4. Do you love the bathtub and during your days you long for pleasant warmth? Don't worry, you can bathe. Maybe you have already been warned against this activity during menstruation, but fears of infections or heavy bleeding are unnecessary.
5. You don't have to cancel workouts during menstruation. Listen to your body, perceive your boundaries, but treat yourself to the pleasant and useful benefits of movement. A little is enough, but it does a lot. :)
