InstaTIP: 3 minutes on how to exercise during menstruation

12. January 2023

1. The more regularly you exercise, the better you tolerate menstruation. One of the reasons is that a large amount of water leaves the body along with sweat, which can alleviate a bloated belly and the risk of swelling in other parts of the body. So one of the answers to how to exercise during menstruation can be that you should sweat. More intense movement also contributes to the production of endorphins, and this hormone also acts as a natural painkiller.

2. Since we mentioned our favorite endorphins, we will tell you another thing associated with happiness hormones. HIIT can be one of your favorite workouts during your days. This is because during this (at first glance perhaps murderous) sport, this substance is produced like crazy.

3. Dilemmas regarding how to exercise during menstruation are very common in the world of yogaThis exercise is further divided into various types that have different effects on the body. Gentle, slow, restorative types of yoga combined with meditation can certainly help you during difficult days. But many are against reverse (inverted) positions. Currently, however, there is no unified position on whether they are truly that harmful or not. Caution is never enough, right?

4. The most important recommendation is: listen to your body's signals! Your goal should not be to move as much as possible, but to feel as good as possible. It is okay if you feel like "just" taking a slower walk or skipping movement completely for the first few days. Maybe you have the experience that completely different types of exercise attract you during your period than at other times. That is also completely OK.
