1. Although humans do not hibernate, in certain levels they do "sleep". Less energy, lower motivation to move is a natural way how winter affects the body. It is not unusual either that someone's metabolism slows down.

2. That the flu comes from the cold is not entirely true. Winter causes lowered immunity, and this is also related to lack of light. In addition, in colder weather we tend to ventilate less, which increases the concentration of viruses and bacteria in the air.

3. Most people suffer from vitamin D deficiency during winter, whose primary source is sunlight. Even though it is only a few months a year, the consequences of this problem can be quite significant. Reduced vitamin D levels can cause deterioration of mental state and metabolism.

4. In colder weather the heart is more stressed, it works more intensely than in summer. This is important information mainly for those who have heart problems. This fact needs to be kept in mind, for example, during sports.
