1. Many trainers would tell you that the basic difference between an energy and protein bar is that the first one is consumed before training, while the second one after it. If you treat yourself to one of them during the day, just as a quick snack, it is completely fine. Both have their benefits for the body, so you won't spoil anything with either.

2. An average protein bar contains a higher amount of protein (usually 20g/bar) and fewer carbohydrates. It is beneficial for muscles, can support their regeneration. At the same time it is a good alternative to sweets for those who are on a low carb diet. But it must be a quality product, ideally without added sugar.

3. In the context of protein and carbohydrate ratio, energy bars are the opposite of protein ones. That is more carbohydrates, less proteins. If you need to replenish energy reserves or wake up your body for cardio performance, definitely treat yourself to one.

4. The best news is that energy and protein bars have a green light in diet menu. The prerequisite is that you eat them at the right time and do not use them as a substitute for main meals, or versatile diet.
