1. A break from exercise is definitely needed when the last 2-3 training sessions of your favorite sport didn't bring you any joy, but rather caused excessive fatigue, nervousness to muscle pain. It can be a signal of overload. It can also manifest as drowsiness during the day despite quality sleep or just the opposite, insomnia. In some, depressive states, physical pain or constant thirst may appear.
2. A frequent dilemma is when to take a break from exercise during a cold. In such a situation, one should really decide according to the principle "listen to your body". We know, it is not easy at all. If you feel that your energy reserves haven't been hit that hard by the cold and you feel like moving, treat yourself to a milder workout. But if your organism is fighting the disease already through increased temperature, or you suffer from severe exhaustion, definitely take a break from sports.
3. Just because, once in a while. For example for one week during the summer. It is not a mistake, even though our greatest passion is physical movement, we think that prevention of overload, overtraining or unhealthy addiction to sports is important. Imagine it like a vacation from a job you love: it won't hurt you, in fact returning to the normal regime will be joyful and full of elan.
4. A break in training is also appropriate when you clearly perceive a significant regression in performance. You don't always have to fix and look for reasons, it can just be a gentle request from your joints and muscles for proper regeneration and rest.
