1. Most fast food contains lot of carbohydrates, salt, fats and calories, but little antioxidants, fiber and other nutrients. Diet with low fiber content generally leads to health complications associated with constipation or other intestinal disorders and reduced number of healthy intestinal bacteria.

2. Fast food is often rich in sugar and simple carbohydrates, which lead to rapid increase in blood sugar level. This can lead to fatigue, irritability and worsened concentration. Otherwise, sugar is contained also in many such fast food meals that are not sweet at all...

3. It is increasingly researched how stomach microbiome is connected with functioning of whole body and inflammatory diseases. Regular inflammations lead to such serious health problems as for example diabetes, arthritis or various heart diseases.

4. Most fast food contains high amount of saturated and trans fats, which can increase level of "bad" LDL cholesterol and decrease level of "good" HDL cholesterol. This contributes to plaque formation in arteries, which can lead to increase in blood pressure and risk of heart diseases.

5. Fast food is very tasty, no doubt about it. And therefore you don't need much chewing to swallow these meals. Brain reward center activates quickly, so it can easily happen that you lose taste for real, fresh food.

6. Fast food is caloric and has low nutrient content, which can lead to weight gain to obesity. Obesity creates risk of many chronic diseases, including type 2 diabetes, heart diseases and some types of cancer.
