1. Menopause is about changes – in body, psyche and lifestyle. If you stop enjoying your hitherto favorite form of exercise, do not take it as a signal that you should stop doing sports. Try to find something else, that you will enjoy and in which you will persevere. It still applies that regularity is key, and at an older age perhaps even a little more. When the body's defenses decrease, maintaining vitality can be hard work.
2. Less estrogen production leads to decreasing bone density. Pulling and pushing are movements that can activate bone-forming cells. This means that menopause can be a great stimulus to start with strength training.
3. Another reason why women after productive age should strengthen is that menopause causes loss of muscle mass. To protect the musculoskeletal system and slow down weight gain build muscles.
4. Regular cardio has several super advantages during menopause. The most important one is probably mood improvement. But it also helps in fighting weight gain, which could lead to heart problems.
5. Balance above all! This applies to mental state, but now we mean rather the body. When you improve balance, you reduce the risk of accidents (which you really don't need in this difficult period).
