1. Do you blame yourself that arrival of autumn is just your excuse for reduced productivity? Don't do that. Drowsiness in cold weather is real phenomenon and for many people normal reaction to temperature change.

2. In autumn and winter period days shorten, and therefore we have less daylight. This affects production of hormone melatonin, regulating sleep cycle. Increased melatonin level during darker days can lead to feeling of drowsiness and fatigue.

3. Sleep serves for regeneration and replenishing energy. Logically, if we have less energy, we have increased need for sleep. Well, in cold weather body consumes more energy to maintain temperature, which can contribute to feeling of fatigue. At lower body temperature can even switch to "saving mode", which can lead to drowsiness because it tries to save energy.

4. One of reasons is completely evident: menu. In autumn often change also eating habits. We tend to consume heartier and more caloric meals, which can lead to greater fatigue after eating. Foods with higher carbohydrate content (e.g. bread, pasta) can cause drowsiness.

5. If you too belong among those people who in winter have greater desire for book under blanket than exercise, then you probably have higher tendency for autumn fatigue too. Less movement means namely less energy, because exercise increases endorphin levels, making us more alert and happier.
