1. Realistically, but not too strictly. Many times we think that the correct rational approach is absolute exclusion of subjectivity. It won't hurt at all if you believe in yourself and want to manage more than previous years - after all that's what January resolutions are for. But find a balance in it, you cannot expect robot behavior from yourself, because... Well, because you are not a robot. So, first tell yourself what would be ideal for you, then think about whether you have time, financial and energy capacities for it. 

2. If you have several resolutions, you can divide them into several subgroups. For example, you will have one priority, one secondary and another minor. This way you can distribute your capacities and it will hurt less if one of your minor goals is not fulfilled one hundred percent. 

3. Talk about what you think. It will have motivational power (if you say it, you create a feeling of a kind of commitment), but you will also get feedback from people who are not as involved in your life as you are. The final decision must always be yours, but think about what others tell you.

4. Realistic touch of resolutions is strengthened by concreteness. Don't promise yourself that "I will exercise", but tell yourself that "three times a week I will go to training". You will clarify more what you really want, need and can do.

5. It is not always necessary to set something new, but rather try to get rid of old. For example, if you want to eat healthier, make a resolution that you will try to resist chocolate bars at the checkout in groceries, that is, somehow win the fight over this bad habit. Or, for getting up earlier you will uselessly set the alarm for early morning hours if you can't stop procrastinating at night. 

6. Write a precise plan or stick to one already prepared in advance. You can tell yourself that in 2024 you will be fit, but you will achieve this goal much easier if you have a schedule of trainings and meals in front of you.
