1. Sometimes we complicate so much. We look for tricks and breakneck solutions, while keys lie before our noses. So, try to first just simply talk with your children about how food affects health. Take them shopping, read ingredients of various foods together, show them which are desirable and which less. But be extremely careful so that fear of food is not created in them, so speak positively.
2. Allow your child to listen to signals of their own body. Rule for joint dining should be that they stay at table until everyone involved finishes eating, but not that they must finish everything. This way you can rely on fact that they didn't finish because they are really not hungry anymore, and not because toys in children's room attract them. Well and under no circumstances tell them that they will be strong and big only if they eat everything. After all we all know it is not true.
3. Serve nicely and temptingly. Create colorful fruit plate from grapes, red apples, cheeses, yellow peaches or cheerful vegetable plate from carrots, cucumbers, tomatoes and peppers. Serve food with respect, in nice containers, with nice and functional cutlery and on clean table.
4. Invite your children to kitchen. Give them opportunity to help with meal preparation. You can teach them how to put together simple and healthy dishes. Have nice time together this way.
5. Give children opportunity to choose between healthy options. If they feel they have choice, they will likely approach dietary decisions with greater responsibility.
5. If you want to teach your child healthy eating habits, you must adopt them too. After all, how can you expect small child to have chicken breast with salad for lunch if they see schnitzel or pizza on your plate?
