1. About cortisol, stress hormone we already wrote few times on this blog. That is, mainly about fact that physical activity can beautifully lower its level. This effect can be multiplied if you treat yourself to training under open sky, because nature has calming effect helping improve mood and reduce anxiety.
2. Movement in nature has positive effect on respiratory system and breathing. Ventilation in gym might not always be one hundred percent, moreover indoors air can be polluted by dust, chemicals or air conditioning. Fresh air in natural environments, in forests, parks, mountains has lower concentration of pollutants, helping lungs work better.
3. With sports outside you can give your body workout bit more than inside. Movement on uneven terrain requires stronger engagement of various muscle groups and balance, leading to better overall body strengthening and coordination improvement compared to exercise on flat surface indoors.
4. Don't have very quality night rest? So go exercise a bit in garden. Movement in nature, especially in sunny weather, supports production of melatonin, hormone that regulates sleep. People who spend more time outside sleep better at night, and this contributes to improvement of mental and physical well-being.
5. Regular contact with nature supports cognitive functions, such as memory, concentration and creativity. Nature helps restore mental energy, increasing ability to focus and improving problem solving.
