4. Many older adults face social isolation and/or health handicaps, which has strong negative impact on mental health. Exercise has many benefits also in area of mental vitality, reduces anxiety and depression.
5. Regular exercise even in older age helps maintain healthy weight and thus reduces risk of diabetes. Can help in supporting joint health in arthritis. Lowers cholesterol and blood pressure, thus lowers risk of cardiovascular diseases or their consequences.
6. Sedentary lifestyle in older age can increase risk of developing dementia. Regular physical activity helps in maintaining essential motor skills, which affect also cognitive functions and their preservation. Best news is that it is never too late to start with fit lifestyle.
