Sweet potatoes are healthy treasure in kitchen: Recipe for fries

Sweet potatoes are hit in kitchen, from which dozens of savory and sweet dishes can be prepared. They are root vegetable originating from South America. Sweet potatoes strikingly resemble ordinary potatoes with their shape, difference is felt already when cutting them, which verifies our strength (see, strong arms you will use also in household, go for it!). They differ from classic potatoes also by nutritional values. We know them baked, in cakes and as side dish to various meals. In this article we prepared for you recipe for simple, yet tasty and mainly healthy fries, which you prepare in few minutes in oven.

 

What benefits do sweet potatoes bring to our body?

Sweet potatoes are nutritionally very rich. They contain lot of minerals, vitamins and fiber. Besides that there is also considerable share of antioxidants in them. Thanks to these substances sweet potatoes have positive effect for example also on our digestion and act even as prevention against some types of cancer. They are associated also with mental health and better immunity thanks to vitamin A.

Recipe for sweet potato fries

Ingredients:

  • 2 large sweet potatoes
  • 2 teaspoons olive oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon sweet paprika, salt and other spices to taste
  • pinch of garlic salt and black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar

Procedure:

  • Cut washed and unpeeled sweet potatoes to desired size of fries. Bigger you cut them, longer you should bake them.
  • In larger bowl mix sweet potatoes together with olive oil.
  • In second bowl mix all spices, salt and sugar.
  • Subsequently pour mixture evenly on cut sweet potatoes and mix so it gets everywhere.
  • Distribute potatoes on baking sheet with baking paper so they don't overlap.
  • Bake 10 minutes, subsequently flip them to other side and bake another 10 minutes.

TIP: This recipe is adjusted so that sweet potato fries will be soft. If you want to prepare them crispier, let them bake in oven 5-10 minutes longer from both sides.
